How do you change your Chat Nickname?

I was wondering how you change your chatroom nickname? I don't like the one i have now and i want to change it. I looked in my messenger and can't find anything that says change nickname or something like that. I am using the latest version 9.0.0.2162
How do you change your Chat Nickname?
Chat room nicknames cannot be created, deleted, or edited anymore. Although you can still use the one you have now, it cannot be changed. This also goes for the information you see about a person on the chatters list such as age and location, when you hover over their name.

All this information was tied to the old Yahoo! Profiles and the new Yahoo! Profiles are not linked to chat room information at all. Up until about 4 weeks ago, you could still access your old profile and make those changes but Yahoo has since closed that last remaining link. I do not know why yahoo did not just cancel out all that information instead of making it uneditable.

If you really dislike that nickname, your only option now is to either create an Alias under that Yahoo ID or make a new Yahoo ID.

HOW DO I CREATE AN ALIAS

For every Yahoo! ID you can create 6 aliases. In the Messenger menu at the top of Y!M choose My Account Info and once you sign in, on the right you will see where you can create aliases. I will be posting some help links for you that will explain this in detail. One major thing that is different now is that aliases cannot have unique profiles. If you want an alias to have a profile you will have to link it to your main Yahoo ID. Only link your alias to the main Yahoo ID if you do not mind that they share a profile.

You might need to exit Yahoo! Messenger before the new alias you have created becomes available in the drop down menu of the Join a room window for chat rooms or the drop down menu under Send As in the IM box.

You can also choose to sign into Yahoo Messenger with your Alias instead of your Yahoo ID and then you will not have to change the name in the IM window or if you go to a chat room because it will already be set as your Alias.

This link tells you the steps to create an Alias:

PLEASE NOTE: There is a mistake on step 3 of the above link. It should instead read: Click the Edit/Create Aliases link on the right side of the page (not Edit/Create Profiles link).

路 Log into Yahoo! Messenger.

路 Click on Messenger.

路 Click on My Contact Details.

o If you want to have your First Name only, delete your Last name.

o If you want to use the Nickname field, delete your First and Last name and enter the name you would like to see in the IM box in the Nickname field.

o If you want only your Account ID to show, leave all fields blank.

路 Click 鈥楽ave %26amp; Close鈥?

Your Old Name Setting Will Continue To Show For Anyone who already added your older name information to their Messenger List or Address Book will continue to display that information in their Messenger Lists and Address Books

If you want them to see your ID differently, you should request that they remove you from their Messenger Lists and/or Address Books, and then Add you again as a new contact with your new information

How are the major rivers of india affected by climate change?

I have some homework, i need to make a chart about how the major rivers of india are affected by climate change. it would be really really helpful if you can give me a link to a site or any information on the topic. thanx!!
How are the major rivers of india affected by climate change?
As was mentioned, many of the rivers in India - especially northern India - are fed by glacial melt. As the glaciers disappear the seasonal flooding from the glacial melt will stop as well. Combine that with the hot dry climate in the north, it spells trouble. Of course, I doubt that anyone knows how climate change will affect the monsoons which of course are a major contribute to the fresh water supply. But that would be worth looking up as well. Sorry - I can't think of any links off hand but you should be able to find some by searching your question.
How are the major rivers of india affected by climate change?
Many rivers in India are fed by melt water from glaciers. Many of these glaciers are rapidly disappearing due to climate change. When the glaciers are gone, so is a reliable source of water from the rivers.
Same way as the Ganges is affected by the Easter Bunny's daily swim.
The climate has warmed over the last 150 years and allowed life to prosper, especially humans. In fact there are so many humans in India now allowing there waste to flow into India's river they are severely polluted, that's probably the biggest change.

How Did You Know It Was Time To Change Your College Major?

I'm only 1 quarter into my beginning programming class and I'm starting to question whether or not I want to go on to be a Computer Programmer anymore. Right now I've somewhere along the lines of a C. This is my very first programming class though.

I figured this would be the career for me since you work by yourself with computers all day long and you don't have to deal with the public's bull-$hit. (I'm not much of a people person)

It was pretty interesting when we first started out with and I thought I had a pretty good understanding of everything... Whenever I ask my teacher for help, he kind of makes me feel stupid about it. Don't get me wrong, he's a nice guy and everything but yeah...

So anyway, how did you know it was time to change your major? What did you change it to and why?

(I'm reposting this because I only got 1 answer when I posted it under Primary %26amp; Secondary Education)
How Did You Know It Was Time To Change Your College Major?
I wouldn't give up on it just yet, since this is only one class. One thing you can do, though, is sign up for a wider variety of classes next semester. Take whatever classes you can outside of your major, in order to try a number of different things. Maybe do some research into other majors your school offers, to see if anything appeals to you more. That way, you don't have to give up and drop your major without any other path to follow. If you do find something else you like or are excited about exploring further, that might be a good time to switch majors. Don't be afraid to talk to your academic adviser, either, and ask for any advice, since that's what they're there for.

I came into college undecided and I took a number of classes in all different topics. I didn't actually pick a major until sophomore year, because at that point, I was definitely sure I enjoyed my English classes more than any of the others. A friend of mine entered college as a psychology major. After taking some psych classes and some drama classes in her first semester, she realized she had no interest in psychology and wanted to study drama instead, so she switched in her second semester.

There's no %26quot;right answer%26quot; about when to switch. It really will depend on you and what you discover about yourself, and when you discover it. Good luck!

I changed mine only once as in those days I didn't have the luxury of taking time to finish my education. I had to get it done and get a job. However, my daughters changed theirs a number of times before they decided. And now at 28 and 30 they are both about the go back to school and change careers. In today's world you can expect to change careers and direction a number of times, so be flexible and try different things.

    i never found one.
Three. From %26quot;undecided%26quot; (I was thinking maybe a double major in biological sciences and communication, maybe doing technical writing), a brief foray into geology, and then linguistics.
I'm going into my 3rd year, and I've changed my mind 3 times. My friend has changed hers.....at least half a dozen times before settling on math/history dbl major. I keep telling her she's crazy, but does she listen to me? Nooooo.....

How hard or easy is it to change your major as an entering freshman at UCLA?

I'm entering with pre-psychology and I know I have the option of confirming or changing my status during orientation but is it possible to change from psychology to Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology (B.S.)? UCLA students. Any experience with changing your major before you attended UCLA?
How hard or easy is it to change your major as an entering freshman at UCLA?
All students in the College of Letters %26amp; Science are essentially undeclared until junior year when you are required to declare a major. Feel free to explore the wide variety of disciplines offered at UCLA and don't worry about labeling yourself right now.
How hard or easy is it to change your major as an entering freshman at UCLA?
you can try andchangeitforthis year but that would be difficult you can talk to the guy at ur university but i reccomend not going through the stress and changing it next year
considering that UCLA is very competitive it might be stressful to change your major . You can try maybe u might get luck but act quickly because spots can be taken fast. You you talk to an evaluator to tell him what is going on.
It isn't normally difficult at all, unless the major you are trying to get into is something %26quot;impacted%26quot; (which means that it is full and they can't accept any more students) like film. I don't think you will have any trouble with this.
You can change your major easily at the summer orientation at UCLA. While you are talking to the counselor assigned to you about the major just tell them you want to change your major. It will be fairly easy to change your major during freshman and you need to have a definite major by the end of your sophomore year.

    How to change your major?

ok im a senior in high school and i already got accepted as a general major student, but i want to change it. So how do i do that? or do i have to reaplie
    How to change your major?
it doesnt really matter. once you get to college and choose your classes you're mainly going to be taking general ed (ge) courses to get them out of the way. and of course taking a few others in the area you're interested in. like psych or maybe a journalist class

anyway the major you put on the application wont affect anything in the future, esp if you already got in! congrats and good luck
    How to change your major?
Don't worry about it until you actually get to college, it doesn't matter right now. Once you're there, you go to the department of the major you want to declare and fill out a form. But if you're really wanting to change it now, call admissions and find out.

How easy is it to change your major right after admission?

I recently applied to University of California Irvine, and I put Literary Journalism as my major and English as my alternate. Now I want to go with English however. I read that after the admission decision is reached then you can apply to have your major switched, but that sometimes majors will be full. What are the chances I will be able to switch? Does it help since I put it as my alternate, could I possibly switch it now? Is English usually full?
How easy is it to change your major right after admission?
It depends on your university, but classes are often booked pretty much on number of admissions . You can change majors but can you get into the classes of your choice?

The universities set class size, number of faculty hires, etc etc.

    My answer is :

%26quot;Not right away%26quot;. But keep on talking to registration, as there should be several hundred students also wanting to change majors.
How easy is it to change your major right after admission?
Should be a piece of cake. Your'e the customer!
English as a major is usually full, but most of the times it isn't. Just talk to a counsler, usually journalism and english are usually in the same school ( but in your case its not). You might have to maintain a certain GPA to apply for the school next semester.
dont' worry about it. Most people change their major at least once, usually more than once.

Just wait until you've started school and talk to your adviser about it. You really shouldn't be locked into a major until your sophomore year anyway - and even then its possible to change it.

How hard is it to change your major in college?

    let's say i majored in pre-med i college

and having problem getting to medical school after i graduated

    and

i want to change my major to business management

    how hard is it ?

i know the two are completely different from each other
How hard is it to change your major in college?
How far are you into it? The sooner you change, the less time you will have lost. It's really not that hard, and the loss isn't that much unless you are already about to get a bachelor's. I changed my major from geology to electrical engineering (also completely different) and only lost about 3 courses because some of the ones I had taken count for generals.

Actually, my wife works with a guy who has a bachelors in financing, is working as a microbiologist, and has been accepted to medical school. Changing course isn't as hard as you think. However, I would recommend, if you're getting a degree in business management, having a focus somewhere other than business. Do something technical like computers in addition to the business management - you can even take your pre-med experience into the degree. I think most of the problems in the business world are that there are too many people who only know how to supervise, and not enough people who actually know how to do the work.
How hard is it to change your major in college?
That would not be a change of major (since you already graduated). I know a girl who majored in dance, couldn't get a job, then went on to major in chemistry.

You would have to go to school again for 2-3 years for a second major. It takes maybe 2 years to get all the general education out of the way, and classes that you really wanted to take.

If you did that (even though you can't major in pre-med, you can only have a pre-med track) then worst case scenario: you would lose two years.

Also, I think it would be easier getting good grades in your second major because you would have already gone to college and experienced what it is to be in college.

Now if you're talking about a change of major while IN college, then it's very easy.
If you're in college, you can usually change your major quite easily. But there are some schools where you can't change it easily - NYU is like that.

If you've graduated from college, you can't change your major after graduation. That's not possible.

However, you don't need to actually major in %26quot;pre-med%26quot; in order to get into med school. You can major in business, or art, or history, or anything you'd like, and get into med school. What you do have to do is take the med school pre-req classes, which are a series of specific classes, mostly in science. The pre-med advisor at your college can advise you on what you need to take and when.

But so long as you take those classes, you can major in business from the start. And maybe that's a good way for you to get the best of both worlds?
It is easy to change, you just go to the registrars office and fill out a 'change of major' form. However, it may be a lot more difficult to take all of the required classes for the new major, so it could take a lot more time to fulfill the requirements to graduate for the new major.
    it isnt hard..

people change majors at least twice during college

so im pretty sure it isnt hard..

you would probably have 2 c if u meeet the requirements

    but other than that

    it shouldnt be too hard

    talk to your college advisor
some courses should be transferable, but it depends on your college, so check it out.

Name change actions can take anywhere from a month to six (6) months (sometimes even longer). The time it takes for such action to be ordered/decreed varies not only from county to county, but sometimes from courthouse to courthouse as well. Should time be a major factor for you, to see how long a name change at your local courthouse will take to process, you should contact the courthouse where you anticipate filing your particular legal action and ask.

I'm trying to change my middle name before I graduate next year...I'm 17. I live in Maryland and how much would it cost to change it? And where do I go?
How much does it cost to legally change your middle name in MD?
You would need parental consent since you have not yet reached the age of majority in Maryland (18) and the cost is around $100. http://www.peoples-law.org/name_change/6鈥?/a>

    -----------

Name change actions can take anywhere from a month to six (6) months (sometimes even longer). The time it takes for such action to be ordered/decreed varies not only from county to county, but sometimes from courthouse to courthouse as well. Should time be a major factor for you, to see how long a name change at your local courthouse will take to process, you should contact the courthouse where you anticipate filing your particular legal action and ask.

This link tells you the steps to create an Alias:

o If you want only your Account ID to show, leave all fields blank.

    路 Click 鈥楽ave %26amp; Close鈥?

Your Old Name Setting Will Continue To Show For Anyone who already added your older name information to their Messenger List or Address Book will continue to display that information in their Messenger Lists and Address Books

Good luck!

English as a major is usually full, but most of the times it isn't. Just talk to a counsler, usually journalism and english are usually in the same school ( but in your case its not). You might have to maintain a certain GPA to apply for the school next semester.

Good luck!

How hard or easy is it to change your major as an entering freshman at UCLA?

I'm entering with pre-psychology and I know I have the option of confirming or changing my status during orientation but is it possible to change from psychology to Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology (B.S.)?

    *********************************

This link tells you the steps to create an Alias:

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messeng鈥?/a>

PLEASE NOTE: There is a mistake on step 3 of the above link. It should instead read: Click the Edit/Create Aliases link on the right side of the page (not Edit/Create Profiles link).

How do you change your Chat Nickname?
If you used your First and Last name when you signed up for a Yahoo! Messenger Account, your First and Last name will show in the Instant Message (IM) window when you send or receive an IM from another user, unless you change it.

    To delete/change your name....
